The objective of this project is to develop a visualization of the human body deployed on 2 large TV displays placed vertically on top of each other. This visualization should be interactive, such that it can for instance change the dimensions of the anatomy depending on the size of the user, and react to its motion. We will either use the Microsoft Kinect or optical trackers as means of extracting user information, such as shape and pose. The visual feedback will consist of realistic rendering of a surface of the skin, skeleton, nerves and muscles based on the Zygote human anatomy model (read more here). Rendering of MRI or CT data will also be envisioned. Finally, if time permits, we will add some simulation components to the visualization, for instance to illustrate muscle contraction during motion.
